VOLCAN - JANSON COFFEE FARM

We ended week 3 with another great family adventure.  Yesterday we packed up our car with a  picnic lunch and headed to Volcan.  We drove about 1 1/2 hours to the Janson Coffee Farm where we enjoyed a fun and relaxing day. The farm is a 800 hectare property high up in the mountains.  The drive from Boquete to Volcan was beautiful, with one fabulous view after another -  a treat in itself!  Upon arrival, Christina and Monica went horseback riding and Greg and Matt rented a kayak and went fishing on the lake "lagunas".  Our day ended enjoying the specialty coffee drinks at the farm while we experienced some spectacular rain showers.  Our drive home was quite an adventure, as raindrops were so big and coming down with such speed that we could hardly see out the window -  very exciting!

Jose and his son, Bruno, were great guides on our horseback ride.

Beautiful views on this spectacular property!

A beautiful ride!

Monica and Christina rode horses among coffee fields, then through the forest, and landed at this beautiful lake where Matt and Greg were fishing.

This lake "lagunas" is the highest natural lake in Panama.  Greg and Matt are fishing from the kayak!

Greg and Matt caught 4 bass from the kayak - fun day!

Beautiful scenery on the Janson Family Coffee Farm.
